Card from a Friend.

This pretty card is from my friend Terri. She and I have been scrapbooking and making cards together for a while. She is so talented. Her cards have such an easiness about them. They never looked forced just like she planned them for hours and hours. I love the blues and browns in this one. It is always nice to get a handmade card because as a card maker you know how much thought and work went into the card. I love it and will cherish it for ever. What a blessing to have such a special friend.

I had such a wonderful weekend at my parents. I went to their house friday night to do some things for them and earn money for my mission trip in June. Then saturday morning we cooked breakfast together. Dad gave mom and I jobs to do while he cooked the eggs and bacon. We had a great time just laughing and being together. After breakfast my sweet niece, Sydney, came over. She played with play-dough while mom and I worked on her computer. I am truely blessed to have such a wonderful family who really enjoy each other.

Father's Day Card.

I know that many of you are saying, "That is your Father's Day card? But it has flowers on it." I realize that however they are flowers in black and white and my Dad loves any thing I make for him. (I am such a Daddy's girl) This card was also Amy's Sunday sketch challenge. She asked that we use three types of printed paper. The black and white paper I used I have been hording in my stash for a while. So I figured Dad was worthy of this special paper. I am planning on giving him this with some foot cream. The man loves to rub his feet with invigorating foot cream. (everyone has to have something that makes them happy) I guess now I need to work on a special card for Mother's Day. Check back soon to see what I come up with for good old mom.

Divine Design-Hosea 14:2

What a great verse to add to my Divine Design challange. This verse has been very uplifting for me as of late. I seem to have an easier time forgiving others than I do myself. The Lord has been dealing with me alot lately regarding my past sins. He has scattered them as far as the East is from the West. However I seem to want to keep them close to me and remind myself how unworthy I am of His love. Of course not a one of us are worthy of the gift He sent in His Son and some times we can use that to keep Him from entering into our hearts. He wants us to love Him and to hold Him close to us in the good times and the bad times. When ever I look at this verse it reminds me to bring my sin to Him and leave it there. I want nothing to stand between His word and my heart.

Divine Design: Matthew 5:44

This is my first entry for the Divine Design Challenge on SCS. I picked this verse because it is one that I really need to keep close to my heart. I sometimes have a hard time praying for people that drive me crazy. So, many mornings I read this verse and try to remember during the day that those people need prayer too. As Christians we should always remember that we are here to live as Christ lived and the represent His love and mercy to others as He has done for us. It sure is helping me to focus more on His word and share with other special stampers at the same time.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day. Remember to be blessed and be a blessing. Also pray for me as I will pray for you.

It's your Day.

I believe that I am beginning to get the hang of this blog. It seems much easier for me to look at all the other blogs and then wish that someone would keep mine up to date. Oh, well I guess if you play hard you should work hard.

This card was made with scraps form some Halloween paper that I LOVE. I also used one of the stamp sets in Michael's $1 bin. I was really surprised that they stamped so nice. Then I colored them with the prisma colored pencils and mineral spirits. I loved doing this. What a great way to match your stamps with your printed paper. Since then I have done a few more cards with the technique. ( I will be posting them soon.)

Painted Pots

These are two pots that I painted for a charity auction to raise money to help fight cancer. They were signed by Brad Johnson and Casey Weldon. Brad plays currently for the Dallas Cowboys and Casey played NFL for the Redskins but is best known in Tallahassee as a past star quarterback for FSU. He and Brad both played quarterback for FSU back in the day. I was very nervous about painting on these pots because they were already signed by the guys. It was also my first time using spray sealer and I had many moments of panic that the filmy haze would clear. But after a little while it did and I did many happy dances. I have painted the Seminole head many times on my car window for football season but never on a rounded object. The Cowboy pot was harder to paint because I am a Steeler fan and had to overcome the need to paint a large buster sign over the whole thing. However I got over my pain and painted it correctly since it was for a great charity.

This is a picture of Casey Weldon, my friend Kim, me and Brad Johnson. It was taken at Brad Johnson's house during a charity Golf tournament lunch. Both these guys are great Christian men, talented football players, super fathers and generally nice guys!

Thanks A Bunch.

My first post is for a card that I made recently. I am trying to use up old scraps and papers that I had to buy but never seem to use. The yellow paper on this card is one example. It is embossed with flowers and I loved it but never used it in my scrapbooking. However I have to say that I love it for card making. The stamp is from the SU set "Thanks a bunch." It was the first set that I purchased from them. I love the little bird her has so much personality.

Here goes nothing!

Please bear with me as I am new to all of this. I have been surfing blogs for a while now and wanted to finally try my hand. My wish for this blog is to share a little bit about the person that I am and how I am influenced by the things around me. I love to scrapbook, make cards, crossstitch and knit and will share those things on a regular basis. Feel free to give my any pointers or suggestions regarding the blog world. Ok! Here goes nothing!
